The wheeled sports facility has been paid for by the council using cash raised from the various large events staged at the park

A new ‘skate plaza’ has opened at Finsbury Park.
The facility features moveable skateboard obstacles including kickers, a manual pad, kerb and wallie rail, and is also suitable for other wheeled activities such as rollerskating, rollerblading and entry-level cycling.
The £145,000 project, a partnership between Haringey Council and the Friends of Finsbury Park, has been made possible thanks to income generated by the council through hosting major events in Finsbury Park, including the annual Wireless Festival.
Following construction by Betongpark, the new multi-use skate plaza has new and inclusive skating opportunities for “seasoned skaters and newcomers alike”.
The council receives around £1.2m from events held at Finsbury Park annually, which it says is reinvested directly into maintaining and improving the park.
