Haringey Borough drew with Carshalton Athletic in the Isthmian League Premier Division.
The home side scored almost immediately through Scott Mitchell but this was cancelled out by a goal from Harry Ottaway.
Carshalton gave the ball away straight from kick-off and Sami Bessadi hit a shot that was deflected behind.
Haringey took the lead from the resulting corner as Scott Mitchell hooked the ball in off the post.
With six minutes on the clock David Olufemi received the ball on the right flank and put in a teasing cross that was missed by everyone.
Carshalton composed themselves after going behind and started to dominate possession.
Harry Ottaway was picked out with a cross and had his header saved by Tiernan Parker.
In the 11th minute Jordan Cheadle took a shot from a long way out that was collected by Parker.
A good period of play for the away side ended with Paris Hamilton-Downes shooting wide.
Carshalton equalised in the 19th minute. Ottaway swivelled and hit an effort that was deflected and beat the despairing dive of Parker and went into the net.
Carshalton were rewarded for their positive response to going behind.
In the 25th minute a well worked team move from Haringey resulted in Alfred Bawling hitting a shot that was deflected narrowly wide.
Mekhi Leacock-McLeod sent in a cross that swerved mid-air and forced Carshalton goalkeeper Lloyd Thomas to tip the ball over the bar.
With 48 minutes on the clock, Haringey substitute Anthony McDonald blazed a shot just over the bar.
David Olufemi’s free-kick from just outside the area flew narrowly wide.
In the 53rd minute Carshalton defender Jalen Jones had ventured forward and headed off target from a cross from the left flank.
Both teams cancelled each other out for large parts of the second half.
Haringey wasted a golden opportunity to restore a lead in the 73rd minute. Georgios Aresti picked the ball up after a corner had been cleared and played McDonald through on goal. The striker initially beat the defender but then seemed to be unsure of his next move and ultimately ran the ball out of play.
Aresti headed the ball into the path of Jorge Sambu and he beat a defender and cut inside but could only muster a weak effort that went well off target.
Jones came close to securing a late winner for the visitors when he met a corner with a powerful header but this was well saved by Parker.
At the other end, a scramble in the Carshalton box ended with Sambu skewing off target.
Aresti received the ball in space and squared to McDonald and Ezechukwu Ebuzoeme made a brilliant block to deny a certain tap-in.
Both sides struggled to build momentum in the second half and ultimately a draw was a fair reflection of the game.
Haringey Borough’s next game is away at Potters Bar Town on 30th October.
