The blaze last night saw two adjacent buildings go up in flames

Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters were called to a building fire near Turnpike Lane Station last night (Monday 6th).
The blaze affected two adjoining buildings of mixed-use. Part of the roof of one of the buildings, along with some scaffolding was alight.
Nine people were led to safety by crews wearing breathing apparatus.
Most of the roof an adjoining building was damaged by fire. Six people were rescued from a flat roof by firefighters via a short extension ladder.
Two people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Road closures were in place along Wood Green High Road near the junction with Turnpike Lane and members of the public were advised to avoid the area and to expect some traffic disruption.
London Fire Brigade received the first of 28 calls about the fire at 9.25pm and control officers mobilised crews from Hornsey, Tottenham, Southgate, Holloway and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control just after midnight this morning (Tuesday 7th).
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
