Tottenham bakers star in Bake Off: The Professionals
Artisan bakers Geanina and George Ursache are taking part in the current series of Bake Off: The Professionals.
The duo, who run the award-winning Prestige Patisserie in Enterprise Row, Rangemoor Road, will be entering the competition in heat 2 on Tuesday 15th June, ready to share their passion for baking with viewing audiences.
Team captain Geanina has been working in patisserie for more than 20 years, having begun her training in Romania when she was 14.
George, who initially worked as an engineer began working in bakeries and patisseries when the pair moved to the UK – using his background in science to help approach the science of patisserie.
Geanina cites George as the one who gave her the encouragement and confidence to open her first venture. Initially they ran the business out of their one-bedroom flat before dedication and hard work paid off and they found permanent premises – the pair have never looked back.
Known for producing a range of hand-crafted savoury dishes and sweet treats that are freshly baked on site, the couple are prepared to take on the Bake Off challenge and impress the judges.
Revealing their participation in the show on social media, the couple said: ‘Our hearts are bursting with joy to finally share this news with you. We’re looking forward to sharing this experience with you all.’
