Firefighters extinguished the blaze within two hours By James Cracknell
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a fire at an industrial unit in Wood Green on Saturday (9th).
Part of a single-storey lean-to attached to the affected industrial unit, in Bounds Green Road, was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Seven gas cylinders were removed as a precaution, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
London Fire Brigade’s 999 control officers took twelve calls to the blaze, at around 12.20pm. The fire was under control by 2.05pm. Fire crews from Southgate, Finchley, Hornsey, Tottenham, Holloway and Barnet fire stations attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by hot works igniting materials close by.
