Haringey Global Entrepreneurship Week (Haringey GEW) is returning with a week-long programme for new businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.

This week, Haringey Council is funding a series of free events and activities as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week – an international campaign by Global Entrepreneurship Network, which celebrates and empowers entrepreneurs around the world.

The theme this year is ‘Grow with Purpose’. The week will kick off with a startups networking event, focusing on financial wellbeing and support. The event, taking place on Monday evening (14th November), is being hosted by 4U2 NewsMag, a local community and enterprise magazine.

On Tuesday, there will be an online masterclass on digital tools for marketing and growth strategies, hosted by Purposeful Group founder Kay Kukoyi, followed by a virtual problem solving session for business owners.

Following this, Clockwise Office is running a pitching workshop on Wednesday, 16th November. Esme Tecle of Fashion-Enter and Toby Fernandes of Collage Arts are also hosting a range of talks and activities about getting into the creative industries on the same day.

If you’re involved in a start-up or social enterprise, head to Broadwater Farm Community Centre this Thursday, 17th November for a panel discussion on grant and bid writing.

Rounding the week off is a networking event – titled Haringey Creative Network 3.0 – hosted by the Frame Perfect Collective and Made by Tottenham, on Friday 18th November. The event aims to connect local business owners while giving young people interested in the creative industries the opportunity to meet those who are already practicing.

Teelo Vasiliou, production coordinator at Frame Perfect, said: “Having the pleasure to close Global Entrepreneurship Week in Haringey is such an honour.

“Organising Haringey’s Creative Network 3.0 is such an integral activity required in our borough to support both the business and creative community.”
