Woman hospitalised after flat fire in Hornsey

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, reports Fran Di Fazio

A woman was rescued and rushed to hospital after the building she lived in caught fire in the night of Tuesday, January 17th.

The fire started in a terraced house converted into flats on Duckett Road, Hornsey. A three-roomed flat on the second floor was completely destroyed by the flames.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were sent to the scene from Hornsey, Holloway and Stoke Newington. The rescuers had to wear breathing apparatus.

The Fire Brigade was called at 1.54 am, and the fire was under control by 3.22.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
