The suspect appeared in court after being charged with a string of offences

A man has been charged after a woman was injured in a shooting in South Tottenham.

An investigation was launched after police had been called at 6.28am on Tuesday, 27th December to reports that someone had been shot at the junction of West Green Road and Grove Park Road. Officers attended with paramedics but nobody with injuries was found. They subsequently checked nearby hospitals and discovered a 24-year-old woman had been checked in without the assistance of the emergency services. She was later discharged following treatment.

Melhado appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (21st), where he was remanded to appear at Harrow Crown Harrow Crown Court on 17th February.

A 25-year-old man was arrested on 28th December on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He is bailed pending further enquiries.
