A small fire in a flat on Morpeth road originated in the resident’s kitchen

Firefighters have issued a reminder about cooking safety after a flat fire in Tottenham this morning.
The London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service attended the third-floor flat on Morpeth Road this morning (28th March) at 2.58am, rescuing a person who was treated at the scene.
By 3.25am the fire was under control. Three fire engines and 15 firefighters from Tottenham and Edmonton attended the scene.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by cooking.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Fires are more likely to start in the kitchen than any other room in the home.
“This incident is a timely reminder to make sure you never leave cooking unattended. If you do have to leave the room, turn off the heat.”
