A collaboration between Whittington Health NHS Trust and Capital & Regional has been recognised at the Health Service Journal’s Partnership Awards

An NHS centre in Wood Green has won a national award for best consultancy partnership.
The Wood Green Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) was awarded for its partnership with Capital & Regional, which own The Mall Shopping Centre in Wood Green where the centre is based.
The CDC is run by Whittington Health NHS Trust and provides x-ray, blood test, ultrasound and eye test services and will soon also offer MRI and CT scanning.
This partnership with Capital & Regional allows for easy access by public transport from other areas in Haringey, “meaning patients could have a shorter or easier journey than travelling to a hospital for these tests”.
CDC is said to have won the award for showing outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.
Jonathan Gardner, director of strategy, development and corporate affairs at Whittington Health said: “This award recognises the collaborative efforts and dedication of our teams and our partner, Capital & Regional.
“I am proud that we are delivering NHS services differently. By bringing diagnostic tests into the heart of Haringey we are reaching a population that has been underserved and tackling the health inequalities that residents face.
“To be chosen among the other incredible nominees is a wonderful achievement.”
CDC opened in August 2022 and has since seen 14,000 people visit for a test.
Helen Brown, chief executive at Whittington Health, said: “Bringing these new services to Wood Green is part of Whittington Health’s commitment to helping local people live longer, healthier lives. I’d like to congratulate the team and thank all of those involved in making the Community Diagnostic Centre a reality, making it possible for local people to get fast and convenient access to the tests they need.”
