Call for Haringey’s Windrush generation to share their stories

The Lordship Hub is looking to hear from members of the Windrush generation and their relatives for their celebrations this year, reports Olivia Opara

The Lordship Hub has launched a call-out for personal contributions towards its Windrush celebrations this year.

To mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush generation in the UK, the Lordship Hub is planning to host an exhibition. The hub is seeking to showcase people’s personal stories and experiences of settling in the UK and is looking for photographs, footage and anecdotes.

The aim of the exhibition is to provide a deeper understanding of what it was like for those who left family – and in many cases careers – behind, and to celebrate the contributions of the Windrush generation to British society.

If you would like to contribute or get involved, contact Janice ([email protected]) before the end of May.
