The man pleaded guilty to rape and attempted rape of a woman he met on a dating app

A man has been convicted of rape after attacking a woman who he met on a dating app at his home.
Ryan Mulhern pleaded guilty of rape and attempted rape on Friday, 21st April, at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Police were called to Hornsey Lane on Tuesday, 21st March at 9.50pm after a member of the public found the victim in a state of distress, saying she had just been raped.
The victim, aged 25, had met Mulhern on a dating app and gone to his house, where she was assaulted.
She then fled the house and the member of the public who encountered her called 999.
A sexual offences investigations techniques officer was appointed to support the victim while she gave evidence. A manhunt was also launched, with officers searching several addresses. Mulhern was eventually arrested in Islington on Wednesday, 22nd March.
Detective sergeant Sam Lockstone, who led the investigation, said: “I am incredibly proud of my team for supporting the victim throughout this investigation with such professionalism.
“Arresting, charging and remanding Mulhern, and then him pleading guilty, within one month of the incident shows the dedication and commitment our teams have in pursuing justice for these horrific offences.”
