Tottenham couple launch dog grooming salon

The salon has been founded by animal-loving local residents, Stephen and Kate, reports Olivia Opara

A local couple has opened a new dog grooming salon to give back to the community.

Stephen and Kate Parry recently opened a dog grooming salon, We Love Dogs Tottenham, after discovering a high demand and as a way to give back to the community. Bringing years of animal care experience, with Kate having volunteered with animals since she was young, the couple offers a range of services from dog reiki to ‘Pawdicures’.

The couple also has three dogs of their own.

Stephen, who has lived in Tottenham for 40 years, told HCP: “It’s good to do something for the community where I have always lived and [was] brought up, and I have seen Tottenham change so much.”

“The salon is about looking after dogs, grooming them, helping them and working with their owners to spot health problems.”

Local resident Pat, who owns a British Spaniel and a Cockapoo, said: “I was the first one in here and I have loved it ever since.”

Pat lives a short walk from Bruce Castle Park and she has always worried about having to take her dogs to the groomers at the top of Lordship Lane as they struggle with travel sickness and being in their harness. However, since being groomed at We Love Dogs Tottenham, Pat’s dogs have settled down and taken a liking to Stephen and Kate.

The couple also sells dog accessories, toys and healthy snacks and food with hopes of introducing micro-chipping and a doggy day care in the garden behind the shop where owners and dogs can hang out with each other.
