New partnership launching to give voice to Haringey’s voluntary sector

Haringey Community Collaborative will “strive to make voices heard and support individuals and communities to flourish

Public Voice and Mind in Haringey are joining forces to create Haringey Community Collaborative, a new voice for the voluntary sector in the borough.

Public Voice and Mind in Haringey have combined their “knowledge, expertise and passion” to work “creatively and innovatively together” to support the voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Haringey.

Haringey Community Collaborative will ensure the sector is “stronger” and “able to attract more external funding and deliver better services”.

The partners will build upon the work that The Bridge Renewal Trust has done to strengthen and grow the VCS in Haringey over the last eight years.

Haringey Community Collaborative says it will “strive to make voices heard and support individuals and communities to flourish”. It will engage residents, the voluntary sector, Haringey Council, the NHS and others to improve services and reduce inequalities.

Residents and organisations will be involved in all levels of decision making, from identifying priorities and themes for the VCS to the allocation of local grant funding in Haringey.

Dan Rogers, CEO or Public Voice, said: “Having worked in partnership with many of the fantastic voluntary and community organisations in the borough over the past ten years, Public Voice is excited to now be collaborating with Mind in Haringey to support the sector overall.

“We’re looking forward to working with the sector, residents, and other stakeholders in the coming months to define areas for capacity building that address Haringey community priorities.”

Lynette Charles, CEO of Mind in Haringey, said: “Mind in Haringey is proud to be part of Haringey’s vibrant, passionate and diverse voluntary and community sector, and has been serving the community of Haringey for over 35 years. We are excited to be partnering with Public voice to strengthen, sustain, reach, and build the borough’s voluntary and community sector.”

Haringey Community Collaborative will be officially launched at an event at Mind in Haringey on Wednesday, 22nd May.
