A group of local traders came together to host a community street party in celebration of the King’s Coronation.

The Tottenham Traders Partnership hosted the street party in Scotland Green Road to commemorate King Charles III’s Coronation and bring the wider Tottenham community together.

The party took place all day, featuring stalls by well-known local traders such as Blooming Scent Cafe, which provided Afro-Caribbean food, and craft beer supplied by The Victoria Pub and Greene King Brewery.

The Tottenham Traders Partnership is a network of local businesses working with Haringey Council and the police to promote and regenerate Tottenham’s high streets and trade.

On the day there was a dog show in which numerous dogs and their owners had to perform tricks and dress up. Bruce Castle Park resident, Pat, and her spaniel, Louis, won. Louis was crowned ‘King of the Crufts’ (and Tottenham) and received a hamper of dog treats.

There was also live music from local steel pan band, Pan Nation, which played some of its well-known arrangements, and Dj E11E, a vocalist and songwriter who played electronic tracks and psychedelic mixes. There was also a raffle draw – with a signed Tottenham Hotspur shirt for the winner. Alongside this was a kid’s bake off and other activities for children.

One local resident told HCP that “the event was great and it should be done more often – maybe every couple of months. It would have been nice to have more diverse stalls but I understand that this is the first time”.
