Tottenham park gets fresh new look

Hartington Park will be celebrating the installation of a new playground this Saturday, reports Olivia Opara

A local park group will be celebrating the installation of a new playground with a launch event this Saturday.

Friends of Hartington Park and Carbuncle Passage is hosting a grand opening of the park’s new playground and is inviting the local community to join them this Saturday (13th May). On the day, there will be refreshments, craft activities for children and a planting workshop of lavender and rosemary.

The playground was installed in two phases that started in winter 2022 and features a new climbing frame and an outdoor gym – with newly opened footpaths. It was installed by KOMPAN, a designer and manufacturing company of playground and fitness equipment, which also installed Finsbury Park’s newest playground.

The friend group has been working in partnership with Haringey Council for four years to install the new playground and regenerate Hartington park. This comes under the council’s Hartington Park improvement project which aims to encourage local residents to fully utilise the space.

Friends of Hartington Park and Carbuncle Passage told HCP that: “The installation of the new park is very exciting for the community and it is already being well used.”

The launch event will be taking place at 1.30pm on Saturday in Hartington Park N17.
