Prestige Patisserie has been given four new Great Taste Awards, reports Olivia Opara

A South Tottenham bakery has won four Great Taste Awards.

On Tuesday (1st August), Prestige Patisserie, an independent artisan patisserie, was awarded four Great Taste Awards by the Guild of Fine Food. The bakery received and ‘outstanding’ (two stars) award for its passion fruit and raspberry giant macaron and three ‘simply delicious’ (one star) awards for its lamb, mint and cumin sausage roll; peanut praline cake and walnut coffee and chocolate cake.

The Great Taste Awards is one of the world’s largest food and drink accreditation schemes where food and drinks are judged by a panel of more than 500 industry experts. The panel judges taste, texture, appearance and the quality of the ingredients.

On the passion fruit and raspberry giant macaron, judges said: “These macarons demanded our attention with their eye-catching colours and overall presentation. We were more than satisfied with the taste and texture, which, true to expectations, was crisp and chewy with a generous filling. The white chocolate, passionfruit and raspberry played harmoniously together. The show-stopping presentation promised a lot, and we felt the macarons really delivered on it. A delight!”

Geanina and George Urscache, the duo behind the business said: “We’re so, so happy! Since becoming Bake Off Semi Finalists in 2021, the local North London community have shown us so much love. This love inspires us to create, experiment and invent new delicious recipes. Prestige is our world, and we’re thrilled to share it with everyone.”
