Man charged in investigation into fatal shooting on White Hart Lane

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting on White Hart Lane last month.

Talip Guzel was shot at the junction with Pretoria Road, N17, on Sunday, 30th July. Police were called at 11.30pm, and found Talip suffering from gunshot wounds. He was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service paramedics, but died a short time later.

On Wednesday, 30th August, Jan Mercan, 22, of Burford Gardens, N13 was charged with the murder of Talip.

He appeared in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court later that day.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist crime team are investigating.
