The garden has been designed to attract wildlife says the GrowN22 founder, reports Miriam Balanescu
A new garden space in front of Hornsey Library has been completed.
The project, commissioned by Haringey Council and Friends of Hornsey Library, was undertaken by local gardening organisation GrowN22 and completed on 22nd September.
GrowN22 say there are a few “tweaks” underway – including mulching and helping plants to settle in – but the garden is otherwise ready for opening.
Luke, founder of GrowN22, said: “GrowN22 was commissioned by Haringey Council in collaboration with the Friends of Hornsey Library to create a new ‘library garden’ for Hornsey Library which has been designed to attract insects, wildlife and a space to bring the community together.
“This project has taken six months from start to completion which makes it the fastest project between the numerous parties to date.”
The official opening of the new garden will take place on Saturday, 30th September at 11am.
