PC Moloney is currently suspended from duty, reports Olivia Opara

A serving Metropolitan police officer has been charged with sexual assault.
PC Joe Moloney, part of Met operations, has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in connection with an incident in Bruce Grove that took place on Saturday, 29th October 2022, whilst he was off-duty.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday (17th October) where he pleaded not guilty and received bail, set to attend Wood Green Crown Court on Tuesday, 2nd November.
PC Moloney was arrested on November 1st 2022 and the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC) were informed of his arrest as a ‘mandatory referral’. The IOPC concluded that a local investigation into the case was “appropriate” and is now being led by detectives from the North Ara’s criminal investigation department.
The directorate of professional standards has been informed and PC Moloney is currently suspended from duty.
