There have been no reports of injuries after a fire blazed through the high street in Crouch End and Hornsey last week.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a coffee shop on The Broadway on Friday night (8th December).

A local resident said the fire started in Harris + Hoole, adding: “Firemen had to smash glass on front door of shop to gain access, and to access water pipes in the road by breaking up tarmac a small patch of tarmac.”

Part of the ground floor was damaged by fire.

The London Fire Brigade was called at 10.03pm and the fire was under control by 11.36pm. Fire crews from Kentish Town, Islington, Hornsey and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical fault involving wiring.
