Fire at youth hostel in Hornsey

50 people vacated the building on Tottenham Lane during the blaze

A fire broke out at a youth hostel in Hornsey on Friday (15th December).

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended the scene on Tottenham Lane. The Brigade was called at 7.35pm and the fire was under control by 8.23pm.

50 people left the building before the firefighters arrived, but there were no reports of any injuries.

Part of a room under a mansard roof was damaged by fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
