Firefighters issued a warning to ‘never leave cooking unattended’

A man has been hospitalised following a flat fire in Tottenham this weekend.
Firefighters issued a warning to ‘never leave cooking unattended’ after a blaze broke out in the flat on Saturday (16th December), believed to have been accidental and caused by cooking.
The Brigade was called at 12.30pm and the fire was under control by 1.12pm. Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters from Tottenham and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the scene.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Fires are more likely to start in the kitchen than any other room in the home.
“This incident is a timely reminder to make sure you never leave cooking unattended. If you do have to leave the room, turn off the heat.”
