North London college group appoints new CEO

A North London college group has appointed a new permanent chief executive.

Angela Joyce took the helm at Capital City College Group (CCCG) this week and is said to be bringing “a wealth of experience and a strategic vision” that aligns with CCCG’s “commitment to provide high-quality education and foster student success”.

CCCG is London’s largest further education and training provider with around 35,000 students based across ten college sites in north and central London, where subjects taught include construction, digital technology, healthcare, hospitality, rail engineering and science.

The group includes The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (Conel), which has campuses in Tottenham and Enfield; City and Islington College, which has campuses in Angel and Holloway; and Westminster Kingsway College, which has various campuses around central London.

Angela join CCCG from Warwickshire College Group and is said to have “a proven track record of leadership and a deep understanding of the further education sector”.

Originally from Buckinghamshire, she started her career in education as a schoolteacher before moving to work in further education. Angela is also noted as the youngest female college CEO when she was appointed at Peterborough Regional College in 2010.

Angela said: ‘I look forward to working with a talented team at CCCG and building on the foundations laid by my predecessors. Together, we will continue to deliver excellence in education and empower our students for future success.”

Pablo Lloyd OBE, who has served as interim CEO, will remain with CCCG on a part-time basis as strategic advisor.

CCCG gained a ‘good’ Ofsted grade in February last year.
