The Metropolitan Police has released an image and a video of a man they want to trace after an assault in a pub in Stroud Green last year left a man with life-changing facial injuries.

On 26th April 2023 a 33-year-old man was watching a football match at the Park Tavern pub in Tollington Park, near Stroud Green Road, at around 8.30pm.

He became involved in a brief verbal altercation with another man, who allegedly produced a knife and slashed the victim’s face, leaving a deep laceration from his left cheek to his lip.

He was taken to hospital by paramedics. Though not life-threatening, the victim continues to receive treatment for his injury.

The suspect left before police arrival. Following extensive enquiries they are now turning to the public for help to identify him.

Detective Constable Danitza Iniesta said: “The pub was busy with people who were watching the Arsenal v Manchester City game that night.

“We believe the victim and suspect spoke a few times throughout the evening without issue, before this horrific act of violence unfolded.

“If you were there that evening, or you know the man pictured, I urge you to contact us immediately.”
