A community interest company which runs and manages various health services in Haringey has appointed a new chair.

Public Voice CIC, which runs and manages Healthwatch Haringey, Healthwatch Croydon, Haringey Reach and Connect, has welcomed Ian Adams as its new chair.

Ian is director of policy, strategy and communications at NHS Resolution, the legal arm of the NHS. His previous roles include director of communications and patient and public engagement for NHS North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups.

Ian will replace Sharon Grant OBE, who has led the Public Voice Board as Independent Chair since 2017. She will continue in her roles as chair for Healthwatch Haringey and Haringey Circle.

Sharon said: “The role of Public Voice in representing the views of residents and service users has
never been more important, and I’m pleased that Ian will bring his considerable experience to leading the organisation. He will be welcomed too by our sizable team with the expertise in community engagement that is now so much in demand by local authorities and health care stakeholders.”

Ian Adams, new Chair of Public Voice, said: “I’m excited to be joining Public Voice at such a critical time for local communities, when stretched public sector budgets mean it’s never been more essential to place the views and experiences of communities at the heart of designing and delivering local services.”

“Sharon leaves a tremendous legacy as outgoing Chair and I’d like to thank her on behalf of the Board for her drive and determination in leading Public Voice. As incoming Chair, I’m looking forward to working closely with other trustees and our team of dedicated staff and local stakeholders to deliver on our ambitious growth plans by bringing the expertise of Public Voice around user engagement to even more local communities.”
