A Tottenham venue has appealed for help to be able to continue hosting live music.

The Post Bar near Seven Sisters launched the crowdfunder last week, saying it had faced “unprecedented difficulties” over the past few months.

In a statement, its team said: “After thorough consultations with our accountants, and also with the Music Venue Trust, and our dedicated team, we’re confronting the stark reality that maintaining our status as a vibrant hub for live music, and possibly even keeping our doors open, is in jeopardy.”

It cited the cost-of-living crisis and the aftermath of the pandemic as posing “immense hurdles” over the last year.

The team added that it has been forced to reduce live music nights in its programming as a result.

The crowdfunder, which hopes to raise £30,000, will go towards “regaining financial stability”. £9,500 has been raised so far.

The team added: “Your generosity will enable us to settle our debts and regain financial stability, positioning us to navigate the remainder of the year with strength and resilience. If any bands or promoters would like to help in putting on a night to support this cause let us know.

“Our commitment to preserving live music at the Post and fulfilling our vision of being a vibrant community hub has never wavered. With your assistance, we can ensure that the Post continues to thrive for years to come.”
