Andre Salman, 18, was fatally shot in Constable Crescent last year

A man has been convicted following the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man in Tottenham last year.
Andre Salman was shot in Constable Crescent on 3rd July 2023. Reagin Konin of Victoria Road, N15, was found guilty of murder at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 5th March.
Police were called at around 5pm to reports of an injured man. Officers attended alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service and found Andre with a gunshot injury.
Andre was pronounced dead at the scene. His family continues to be supported by specialist officers.
Murder investigators found that Andre had been travelling on a moped when he was shot by a suspect on Stamford Road. He continued, turning left on Constable Crescent where he crashed with a parked car.
CCTV footage linked Konin to the scene of the crime.
On 7th July 2023, detectives issued a public appeal naming him as wanted in connection with their investigation. He handed himself in at a police station in Essex the following day.
He told officers that he was delivering a replica shotgun on behalf of a drug dealer. He claimed that he raised the weapon after being concerned for his safety and that it fired accidentally.
This was disputed by officers and the prosecution who believed that Konin was looking to continue his pursuit of another man who he chased with a machete three days before the shooting.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams who led the investigation said: “Once again, a young man has lost his life in an act of violence and another family is grieving.
“Reagan Konin claimed that the shotgun went off accidentally but based on the evidence they heard, the jury convicted him of murder.
“There are still a lot of unanswered questions about what happened, and Konin will now have a long time in prison to reflect on his actions. However, nothing will take away the pain that he inflicted last summer.”
Konin will be sentenced at the same court on Thursday, 28th March.
