Those selected will have a photographer visit them at their growing site, the photos then included in an exhibition at Wolves Lane
Nominations are open for ‘women who grow’ in Haringey, who stand a chance of being selected to appear in an exhibition at Wolves Lane.
Entries close today for the opportunity, which is open to women or non-binary people who have been involved in ‘incredible’ local or community growing.
The eight selected will be visited by a professional photographer at their growing site, with the photos to go on display as part of an exhibition for Women’s History Month in Palm House at the Wolves Lane Centre from the end of March.
Each photo will be accompanied by a plaque telling the grower’s story in their own words.
In a statement, the centre said: “Globally, women are often the unsung heroes throughout the food-growing chain. So we’re excited to announce a planned photography exhibition showcasing female and non-binary growers throughout Haringey.
“We hope that these incredible people’s stories will inspire future growers. Let’s create a more open and diverse growing community starting with the roots here in Haringey.”
Growers can nominate themselves. The nomination form can be found here.
