The community centre in Lordship Rec hopes to raise £4,000 to cover the cost of the free services it’s running this year

A Tottenham community centre has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help pay for the free services it’s providing this year.
Lordship Hub, based in the centre of Lordship Recreation Ground, aims to raise £4,000, with a potential for match-funding to be obtained by the charity if the crowdfunder is successful.
Joan Curtis from Lordship Hub said: “Lordship Hub provides so much for so many in our community. We are not permanently funded by any external body but depend on our income from services to pay wages, buy café items and generally to sustain the building.
“We are run for community benefit, not for personal profit. In addition to our paid services the hub is home to a free food kitchen, food bank and older people’s coffee morning on Thursdays and provides meals and training for volunteers as well as free space for all those groups who help maintain and improve the park.
“In order to sustain these services and keep the Hub afloat we need your generous support. We also try to keep our charges as affordable as possible.
“Any donation, however small, is welcome.”
