The council has previously installed 231 on-street charging facilities to meet rising demand

A further 38 new electric vehicle (EV) charging points are set to be installed across 19 locations in Haringey.
Haringey Council says the roll-out of this EV infrastructure will help improve air quality and reduce the borough’s impact on climate change.
With the increasing popularity of EVs and the majority of households in the borough lacking off-street parking, the council has previously installed 231 on-street charging facilities to meet rising demand.
It is estimated that an additional 962 standard and 61 rapid charging points will be needed in Haringey by 2030 as more people switch to environmentally friendly modes of transport.
The new EV charging points will feature dual sockets on each side, capable of simultaneously charging two vehicles. Additionally, the majority of the planned EV points will be situated on traffic islands or buildouts to preserve pedestrian access and avoid obstructing footways.
Mike Hakata, deputy leader and cabinet member for climate action, environment, and transport, said: “We are committed to creating a fairer, greener Haringey and our roll-out of more EV charging points will help us do just that.
“By decarbonising transport, we are helping reducing emissions and tackling the climate crisis.
“The programme will have very real benefits for local residents by breaking down the barriers to electric vehicle take-up and seeing air quality in our borough improved.”
The installation and management of these charging points will be overseen by Total Energies Charging Solutions UK Limited.
