New Tottenham warehouses set to provide more than 100 jobs

Two sites are planned to be redeveloped at Hotspur Industrial Estate, reports Grace Howarth, Local Democracy Reporter

Plans for Hotspur Industrial Estate

Two new industrial warehouses are set to create 133 jobs in Tottenham.

Hotspur Industrial Estate, an industrial space that is home to multiple companies in Tottenham, is set to demolish and redevelop two of its sites.

The planning statement highlights the developments are expected to create 133 job opportunities for local people, which would “further strengthen” employment in the area and “bring back into use” vacant zones.

The larger site is located at 18 West Road and the smaller one, Unit 4 West Mews. Both stand on brownfield industrial land.

The larger, referred to as Unit 1, will measure 95.5 metres by 45.7m and the smaller one, Unit 2, will measure 33.5m by 25.3m. Both sites will include office space, a yard and landscaping.

Feedback from a pre-application engagement with Haringey Council officers found further information was wanted on the “potential flexible uses” of the developments, “alternative facade treatments” explored with a focus on “enlivening the street frontage” and the number of vehicles expected per development calculated as part of a transport assessment.

Unit 1 will have 21 parking spaces, including a blue badge space, and four electric vehicle (EV) charging points. Unit 2 will have five parking spaces, including one blue badge space, and two EV charging points.

More information on the scheme can be found via Haringey Council’s planning portal, using reference number HGY/2024/1370.
