Major works have been affecting the road since 7th May

West Green Road in Tottenham has been reopened to traffic following the completion of an upgrade to the gas network by Cadent.
The works were part of an investment of over £1million to increase the reliability of gas supplies for thousands of people across North London.
Finishing up a week ahead of schedule, project manager Andrew Stone said: “We truly appreciate the patience of businesses and the community during these essential works, and we look forward to seeing West Green Road thriving again.
“The project has gone smoothly, and we were able to wrap up the works one week ahead of schedule because our team worked quickly, efficiently, and safely.”
From Saturday the road has again been accessible to all traffic and the Number 41 bus has returned to its normal route. Since works began on 7th May, the 41 bus had taken a diversion via Phillip Lane.
Three of the low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN) barriers in St Ann’s and Bruce Grove were temporarily suspended for the duration of the works. However, with the road reopening, the LTNs will be reinstated next Monday (22nd), which means that vehicles travelling between St Ann’s Road and West Green Road will not be able to use La Rosa Lane, and traffic from Phillip Lane heading Northbound on the A10 will not be able to use Mount Pleasant Road.
The road opening will be welcome news for the wide range of independent shops and businesses at the heart of the community of South Tottenham. The stretch of road that is reopening is an important area for the community and is home to butchers, fishmongers, and diverse restaurants and cafes.
Stone said: “We worked closely with local businesses to minimise disruption to their activities. For example, we made changes to our road traffic plan to facilitate deliveries and waste collection, and we opened a walkway to allow pedestrians to easily access amenities on both sides of the road.”
The next phase of work is scheduled to take approximately nine weeks until Friday, 13th September. Cadent will install a new gas governor, which is a key component of the project, in Westerfield Road Car Park, and remove the old one from its current position on the High Road. To complete these works, one of the entrances to Seven Sisters Underground Station will be closed to pedestrians. Users will be able to access the station from the other entrance just a few metres away.
