Tottenham Hotspur have launched a ‘heritage tour’ showcasing the history of the club in and around the local area.

Officially launching the long-awaited Tottenham Hotspur Heritage Tour on Friday (2nd), the club advertised the experience as “detailing the incredible story of the history, architecture and people that make up the past, present and future of the club and its local area”.

Fans will be able to take part for the first time on Thursday, 15th August, visiting heritage sites such as Percy House, Northumberland Terrace, the Cockerel Clock and the former home of club founder Bobby Buckle.

Tottenham Hotspur Foundation’s headquarters at Percy House is located within the historic Northumberland Terrace. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the house was a residence of the Percy family, to whom belonged the nobleman who inspired the club’s name – Henry ‘Harry Hotspur’ Percy.

The Cockerel Clock is a symbol of the gas lantern which, according to legend, the club was formed underneath in 1882.

The tour also includes Warmington House, the Tottenham and Edmonton Dispensary façade, murals of Ledley King and Harry Kane, Walter Tull’s plaque, Dial House, Billy Mudge’s House and the site of the Red House.

It will also be possible for visitors to combine the heritage experience with other attractions such as stadium tours, the Dare Skywalk and F1 Drive.

The new tour forms part of the club’s wider plans to create a sport, leisure and entertainment destination in Tottenham.

The tour will be operating bi-weekly on Thursdays at 10am with all the funds raised through bookings will be donated to the club’s charity, the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and support its mission to create life-changing opportunities for the local community.
