Highgate care home hosts summer fair with help from local businesses

The fair showcased a broad range of products from seven local businesses, writes Kinga Plata

A Highgate care home hosted a summer fair bringing together the local community and promoting small businesses.

Signature Care Home organised the event to bring together residents, families and the community to socialise, shop for locally made handicrafts and enjoy food and sweet treats.

The fair showcased a broad range of products from seven local businesses, including makers of candles, deli items, ceramics, clothing, jewellery and home goods.

The participating businesses were Crouch End Candles, Plastique by Sian, Happyfolk, Dan’s Deli, Ummpixies, and Kate’s Pots and Cards plus a Signature Highgate resident who displayed a collection of vintage bags and donated all the profits to an animal charity.

Signature Care Home will now be collaborating with one of the participants, Crouch End Candles, to develop a “signature scent” that will be used throughout the home.

All attendees browsed the stalls and interacted with the vendors and one another. A highlight of the event for many was the barbecue and cake stands prepared by the chefs at Signature Highgate, which complemented the sunny weather.

Courtney Moncur, client liaison manager at Signature Highgate, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with the success of our summer fair! It was wonderful to see residents, their families, and local neighbours show their community support. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special. We’re already looking forward to hosting our next one!”

Attendees also expressed their positive feedback, with one resident saying: “It was wonderful to see everyone come together and support our local businesses. The fair was a lovely reminder of the vibrant community we have here.”

Encouraged by the event’s success, Signature Highgate is now planning for a Christmas fair which will take place later this year, will feature even more vendors and also live entertainment to add to the festive atmosphere.
