Yalcin Coban is taking part in the ‘Skinflint Rally’ and raising money for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, writes Taro Kaneko

A Tottenham man is driving a £500 car to Barcelona in aid of a charity close to his heart.
Yalcin Coban will be driving his run-down Mazda to the Spanish city as part of the ‘Skinflint Rally’, a charity race where all participating vehicles must cost under £500.
The Tottenham resident is raising money for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, in honour of his wife who has been diagnosed with the illness.
This year’s Skinflint Rally saw 13 cars and two motorcycles starting off from Folkestone yesterday (Thursday 19th) where they used the Eurotunnel to cross into France and begin a 1,000-mile journey from Calais to Barcelona.
Asked about his choice of car, Yalcin said: “It has brown stains on the back seats, squeaky suspension and has trouble starting sometimes.
“But the rally sounds extremely exciting and it is for a good cause.”
The YouTuber, who previously worked as a wedding photographer, had only heard of the fundraiser four days before it was set to start. Rushing to buy a cheap car and tyre pump, he said: “I enjoy trying new things that excite me.
“It has also been a dream to drive like I am on a Top Gear TV show.”
A Skinflint Rally organiser said participants will be mesmerised by the mountains of Andorra and the scenic drive on the N152 road – an experience Jeremy Clarkson has described as one of his favourites.
The fundraiser collected £66,000 for charity during their drive to Vienna last year and a total of £135,000 since 2018.
