Man charged with murder after man shot dead in Tottenham

A suspect has been charged with murder after a man was shot dead in Tottenham on Tuesday (15th).

Mahmut Sahindal, aged 56 and of no fixed abode, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He has been remanded to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court today (Thursday 17th).

An investigation was launched after police were called to reports of a shooting on Tuesday in Waltheof Gardens. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found a man with a gunshot injury. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.

The victim’s family have been informed of this update and will continue to be supported by specialist officers.

Enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing.
