North London cop charged with sex assault on girl

The victim is said to have been aged under 13

A serving police officer working in Enfield and Haringey has been charged with sexually assaulting a child.

Paul Uworibhor, aged 58, is a special constable attached to the Metropolitan Police’s north area basic command unit, which covers the two boroughs. He has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl aged under 13 and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Friday (29th).

Uworibhor has been suspended since his initial arrest in October 2021. The assault was reported to have happened in 2010, which was prior to his employment with the Met.

The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
