Local residents are invited to have their say before the deadline on 21st July, reports Grace Howarth, Local Democracy Reporter

A public consultation has been launched to assess Haringey’s pharmacy services.
Haringey Council wants feedback on where community pharmacies are located and how services are delivered.
Residents are being encouraged to fill in a short online survey, which is open until Monday, 21st July, to help the council create its local pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA).
The PNA is legally required and helps health and wellbeing boards evaluate the current and future needs of services.
Residents are being asked if there are any gaps in service provision and whether the draft PNA reflects the “needs of Haringey’s population”.
According to the draft, the borough has an average of 20.6 community pharmacies per 100,000 population “compared with 18.3 per 100,000 in England”.
In total there are 54 community pharmacies in the borough, which the council has described as a “relatively stable” figure with “no gaps” identified in the provision and the service.
The council assessed residents had “adequate” access to a pharmacy with no gaps in the east, west and the centre of the borough.
However, the council noted demand on community pharmacies and pharmacists was “great and ever-increasing”.
A consultation with pharmaceutical service providers in the borough, in which 28 out of 54 responded, found 26% of respondents would like to provide more services.
Services mentioned included vaccinations for health occupational risk workers, needle exchange and HIV testing, smoking cessation as well as emergency contraception.
In terms of languages spoken in addition to English, across 26 of the pharmacies, 29 languages were reported in total with Hindi, Gujarati and Turkish most frequently mentioned.
