A block of flats in Tottenham was badly damaged yesterday (Wednesday 3rd) when a tree fell on to the building.

Firefighters were called to reports of the fallen tree in Somerset Gardens at around 4pm.

There were no reports of any injuries but photos taken from the scene show the block suffered significant damage, especially to the roof.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Damage was caused to the roofs of two flats. Three people left the building before the brigade arrived.

“Control officers took the first of four calls at 4pm and mobilised one fire engine from Tottenham Fire Station to the scene. Firefighters left the scene at 6.21pm.”
