Tottenham-based mentor's national awards programme opens for nominations

The CCC Awards have grown to attract nominations and public votes from across the country, writes Belle Lun

Nominations have opened for an awards programme celebrating people and organisations making an impact across community, corporate and cultural life.

The CCC Awards were founded by Tottenham-raised finance leader Mahari Hay, chief executive of the Community, Corporate and Culture (CCC) Group.

Born in Jamaica but having grown up in Tottenham, Mahari was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in 2025 in recognition of his work, in areas including financial literacy, mentorship and community empowerment.

The CCC Awards were launched in 2024 and have since grown to attract nominations and public votes from across the country. Organisers say the awards have received more than 600 nominations and 50,000 public votes since their launch.

The flagship ceremony has also grown from around 300 guests in its first year to a reported 500 attendees at the 2026 event.

The CCC has also recently worked with ThruLife2 on an ‘Empower Through Football’ programme, with Haringey Council leader Mark Blake among those in attendance.

The 2027 awards will continue to recognise individuals and organisations across a range of areas, with nominations now open.
For Tottenham readers, the awards offer a connection to the area through Hay, who was raised locally before building a career in the finance sector and establishing the CCC platform.

The awards have attracted support from figures including Bank of England chief financial officer Afua Kyei, football campaigner Troy Townsend MBE and Bishop of Dover Rose Hudson-Wilkin. Organisations associated with the event have included HSBC, Mastercard, the Financial Times, John Lewis Partnership and the BBC, according to the organisers.
