Cause of flat fire in Tottenham under investigation

The blaze on Wycombe Road broke out overnight

The cause of a fire in a Tottenham flat is under investigation by London Fire Brigade (LFB) and the Metropolitan Police.

Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were called at 11.58pm on Friday (19th May) to Wycombe Road, and the fire was under control by 1.15am. Fire crews from Tottenham, Walthamstow, Edmonton and Stoke Newington fire stations attended the scene.

A three-roomed flat on the first floor of a residential block was destroyed and part of the roof of the building containing the flat was also damaged. A man vacated the property before crews arrived and there are no reports of injuries.

Lansdowne Road was closed between Wycombe Road and St Paul’s Road while LFB attended the scene.
