Homeless families moved from temporary accommodation during Beyoncé concerts

Rooms in an Enfield Travelodge have become booked up during the Tottenham tour dates, forcing homeless families out

According to a report in The Guardian, homeless families housed by Enfield Council in a hotel are due to move out during Beyoncé’s Tottenham tour dates.

After the council failed to renew their booking, up to 30 families are being forced to move to alternative temporary accommodation (TA) – as their rooms have become booked up during Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour Tottenham Hotspur Stadium dates.

The families will be moved from Monday, 29th April, when the singer’s tour dates in North London begin.

100 rooms in the Travelodge are booked by the council as TA, with 30 bookings which the council failed to extend.

Collette Collington, who has lived in the hotel since the start of May with her two children, told The Guardian: “I don’t sleep as it is but this news is very distressing. It’s not good for me, my mental health and for my two youngest children who need stability because of their additional needs. Every environment we go into, it takes time for them to settle in. They have to be in the same routine. It will be very distressing for them.”

Collette’s family are being moved to a Travelodge in Hertfordshire until 4th June.
