Finsbury Park Singers will be participating in a celebration of architect Sir Christopher Wren

A Finsbury Park choir will be taking part in a two week, London-wide celebration of the architect Sir Christopher Wren, as choirs around the city sing from churches he designed.
Finsbury Park Singers, a choir with 80 members, alongside Finsbury A Capella, will take to St Stephen Walbrook on 24th June at 3.45pm for the musical relay-style event called Wrenathon. It promises to be a genre-spanning performance.
The Wrenathon is curated and produced by Holly Hunter on behalf of the Square Mile Churches Wren300 project, commemorating 300 years since the death of Wren.
Its programme begins on 13th June with ‘Our City Sings’, an eleven-day programme of musical recitals, performances and open rehearsals taking place in some of the historic churches associated with Wren.
The Wrenathon is in collaboration with Central London Samaritans, who founded the UK-wide Samaritans from their base St Stephen Walbrook 70 years ago.
Holly Hunter, creative producer, said: “The Wrenathon celebrates the power music has to bring people
together and represents the myriad of different singing communities across London and beyond. I am excited to present such a wide range of vocal music, sung by people from all walks of life, in the beautiful Wren churches of the Square Mile.”
