The Green Lanes food joint has gained a strong following in North London

A Green Lanes restaurant is in the running for an annual Turkish restaurant and takeaway award.

The Turkish Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (TURTA’s) return for a second time this year to celebrate the UK’s Turkish culinary scene – and the Harringay Green Lanes establishment Gökyüzü is among the shortlistees for best North and West London restaurant.

Another Haringey restaurant, Kervan Sofrasi, is also in the running, while Tarshish has been nominated for fine dining.

A representative of the TURTA’s, Ozan Askin, said: “The TURTAs aim to honour the exceptional contributions of Turkish restaurants and takeaways to our culinary landscape. This year, we’ve seen an outstanding array of talent, and finalists in all categories is a reflection of their dedication to elevating Turkish cuisine.”

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday, 5th November at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane.
