Leafy Bean at Bowes Park Station is trying to raise £8,000 to stay open, reports Miriam Balanescu

Residents of Bounds Green are raising funds to help save a local cafe.
Leafy Bean at Bounds Green Station is at risk of closing down, and is hoping to raise £8,000 by 26th September to stay open.
Locals are crowdfunding to help out, while a local artist is also selling their artwork to top up their funds.
Gabriela Schutz is selling her drawings of the cafe for £750. She commented: “I was sorry to see that Leafy Beans, the cafe that talented Laura Monk opened on the platform of Bowes Park Station in 2017, might close down due to financial hardships.
“It’s a beautiful place that so much love went [in]to every part of it, the coffee is lovely and the atmosphere is great. When the cafe opened, I spent three days there drawing it as part of a project I did as an artist. I would like to help Leafy Beans by selling this work and giving all the profit to them. The higher you give, the more chances the cafe will stay open. It would be such a shame if we lost this place!”
Laura, founder of Leafy Bean, posted to Facebook saying the cafe had “run into a sticky situation with our landlord”. She says the funds are needed to settle an electricity bill and resolve “other financial tangles”.
