Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a Haringey teenager on New Year’s Eve have charged a boy with his murder.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared at Highbury Magistrates Court on Saturday, 6th January, charged with murdering Harry on the night of 31st December in Primrose Hill, Camden. Harry had joined the crowds gathered there to watch fireworks.

Officers provided first aid before paramedics arrived, but despite the efforts of emergency services, Harry sadly died at the scene shortly before midnight.

Harry attended St Thomas More Catholic School in Wood Green and supported Tottenham Hotspur. A vigil was held for Harry at Downhills Park in Tottenham last week, while a minute’s applause was held for him at the Spurs game on Friday (5th).

Haringey Council leader Peray Ahmet described Harry’s death as a “terrible loss for our community” in a statement.

Following a public appeal for information, two teenagers aged 16 and 17 were identified and arrested in connection with Harry’s murder last Thursday (4th). The 16-year-old was charged, while the 17-year-old was released on bail.
