Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Okechukwu Iweha in Tottenham have made a second arrest.

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Croydon on Monday (22nd) on suspicion of murder. He was taken to a North London police station.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said: “While we have made an arrest and our investigation is making good progress, we are still keen to hear form anyone who has information – no matter how small a detail it may seem, please do get in touch.”

Police were called at 5.51am on Sunday, 7th April to Worcester Avenue, at the junction with Northumberland Park near Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, after a man was found unresponsive.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. On arrival they found 46-year-old Okechukwu Iweha suffering stab injuries. CPR was administered but despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Okechukwu’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem held on 10th April at Haringey Mortuary gave cause of death as a stab wound to chest.

On Wednesday, 10th April, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was later released with no further action.
