A total of 13 beds will be provided for vulnerable adults with complex support needs
Vulnerable residents across Haringey are set to benefit from new accommodation following a successful bid for £850,000 from the government.
Working in partnership with Depaul UK, a renowned charity which has acquired St Vincent Mews, a building located in Green Lanes, various support will be offered to residents.
A total of 13 beds will be provided for vulnerable adults with complex support needs. This may relate to substance misuse, challenges with physical or mental health, and contact with the criminal justice system.
St Vincent Mews will be a 24-hour staffed facility, providing intensive support to help residents transition away from homelessness and focus on their recovery journey.
Awarded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government via its Single Homeless Accommodation Programme (SHAP), the funding will be used to deliver crucial service which will support residents over the next three years.
Sarah Williams, cabinet member for housing services, private renters and planning, said: “This marks another significant step in our commitment to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
“We know how important it is for our residents to have the right environment, support and commitment to overcome any challenges they may be facing. This could be alcohol or drug misuse or difficulties with their mental or physical health.
“St Vincent Mews will not only provide a safe place to stay but also offer the essential support services needed to help individuals rebuild their lives.”
