A council consultation on the proposed scheme along Tottenham Lane is ending soon

Time is running out for residents to have their say on plans for a new cycle route in Hornsey.
Haringey Council is proposing to install a protected two-way cycle track on a section of Tottenham Lane between Hornsey High Street and the Church Lane junction.
As well as keeping cyclists separated from traffic, plans include the introduction of a new zebra crossing and an upgrade to an existing one.
A ‘floating’ bus stop will also be installed outside Hornsey Station.
Mike Hakata, cabinet member for climate action, environment and transport, said: “This proposal underlines our commitment to making Haringey a fairer, greener borough in which transport infrastructure is designed to ensure active travel and public transport are the first choices.
“Cycling has many benefits, from supporting residents’ health and wellbeing to reducing traffic and improving air quality. By creating a network of protected lanes, we will tackle one of the biggest obstacles to cycling – the sense of vulnerability and the fear of collisions.
“Part of our ‘Streets for People’ programme, we want to get this important scheme right. I urge everyone to have their say and get involved in the conversation.”
